Guanajuato, Gto., February 22, 2016.- A total of 160 students will represent the University of Guanajuato (UG) after obtaining their pass to the regional stage of the "Universiada Nacional 2016", in which they disputed every sport event with high performance for eight days.

This was a very positive result for UG because it will have a presence in fifteen disciplines and places the university of the state of Guanajuato with the greatest number of participants in the regional stage of this sport competition.

The "Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes" (UAA) will be the place for the next stage that will occur in April 4 to 11, where the states of Aguascalientes, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí and Guanajuato will be represented.

At the regionals. Eight teams will be participating, they will dispute the first places to go to the national stage which will happen in Guadalajara, Jalisco.

UG shows its commitment towards the students who participate in the joust. In the regional stage they were supported with transportation, lodging, food and registry in the tournament.

It is worth to mention that 160 students are distributed in 15 disciplines: Athletics 14; Chess 5; Judo 7; Tennis 3; Taekwondo 14; Karate 9; Aerobic gymnastics 1; Weightlifting 1; Table tennis 3; Archery 5; Beach Volleyball 3; Women's Volleyball 12; Men's Volleyball 12; Baseball 17; Women's Soccer 20; Men's Soccer 20 and Men's fast soccer 20.
