Guanajuato, Gto., February 20, 2016.- The Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato (OSUG), began its first gala night in "Teatro Juárez" with a genuine concert in which the attendees enjoyed the "Symphony No. 7 in E major" of Austrian composer Anton Bruckner.

Under the direction of the M. Roberto Beltrán Zavala, OSUG presented a concert full of shades and complex and sublime sounds, thanks to the four Wagner tubas, unique instruments being a sort of trunk that Wagner conceived as a hybrid between the trunk and the tuba. In Mexico, there are only seven tubas of the kind and in the concert there was the chance to have four of these, which gave solemnity to the melancholic sounds of the symphony.

Another sublime moment of the night was the touching interpretation of the virtuous Mexican violinist, Shari Mason, of the works "The Lark Ascending" of Ralph Vaughan and "Tzigane" of Maurice Ravel.

"The Lark Ascending" of the English Composer Ralph Vaughan Williams is based on the homonymous poem written George Meredith (1828-1909), a hymn to nature which fuses with the flight and singing of the lark.

While "Tzigane" of Maurice Ravel is a rhapsody for violin and orchestra. Inspired by Paganini's tantrums and the Hungarian Rhapsodies of Liszt that imitate the stylistic resources of the Hungarian Zingano violinists.

With these two plays, Shari Mason proved her virtuosity, talent and interpretative quality with the violin, besides, she made clear that the music is a set of sounds that touches and moves through the emotions.

It is important to mention that Mason is the first violin of the National Symphonic of Mexico and Mining Symphonic. At the same time, is one of the most outstanding Mexican interpreters of her generation. Colleagues and critics usually praise her executions for her determination, maturity, solid technique and profound knowledge that she addresses with for every play.

To finalize, the public bid farewell OSUG after their first gala concert in "Teatro Juárez", with a thunderous and prolonged applause, excited, the musicians, director and soloist thanked the public.

It is precise to mention that OSUG will continue throughout the year presenting gala concerts, for more information, check the following website www.extension.ugto.mx
