Guanajuato, Gto., February 19, 2016.- Two years ago, the University of Guanajuato (UG), created a Female Rugby team, for the current captain, Renata Rodríguez, student of the fourth semester of Metallurgic Engineering, this sport represents sisterhood, sacrifice and a lot of effort.

Rodríguez Hernández told that her incursion in this sport began with the invitation a friend made, previously she practices athletics, but it was only with the first training that made her fall in love with Rugby, since she affirms, this "teaches you a lot".

She commented that the openness from UG to support the female team in this area is a huge step for both the institution and for the sport in a national level.

Because of her decision, her family expressed to her their concern since they consider the sport to be very rough and with a greater chance of suffering injuries, nevertheless, she had the support from their parents.

The student explained that in the female branch they have seven players, so she mentions that her preferred position is center because that is where she can move the line.

Likewise, she assured that this female rugby team is an opportunity for the students that like to practice contact sports and can make it with the certainty that not only you create a team, but, you create a family.

"Currently we are 14 members and we are seeking for more players, therefore she invited all the female students of UG to join them, do not be afraid, because this is a very noble sport that teaches you a lot of values", she emphasized.

The students who are interested in practicing this sport, can go to the soccer field in Chemistry in Noria Alta, from Monday to Friday from 18:00 to 20:00 and Saturdays from 14:00 to 17:00 with the coach of UG's Rugby teams, Dr. José de Jesús Álvarez Herrera.
