
Guanajuato Gto., February 25, 2016.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) will receive 188 high school students from the 32 delegations that participate in the XXV National Olympics of Chemistry that will occur from February 28 to March 4.
This contest has the purpose to promote the study of the Chemical Sciences and stimulate the development of youth talent in this discipline, as well as contributing the deepening of friendship among the participating students and create a framework to encourage cooperation, understanding and the exchange of experiences. At the same time, it allows selecting the youth to form the delegations that will compete in the International Olympics.
Along the 25 editions of the National Olympics of Chemistry, the participation of the students from the University of Guanajuato has been outstanding, year after year they have obtained the first positions.
In the first edition, in Valle de Bravo in 1992, the student Leonardo Álvarez Valtierra, from the Official High School of Guanajuato, outstood with an international recognition and honorific mention in Pittsburgh, US also in three consecutive international events and in two Spanish-American contests.
This year the delegation that will represent the state of Guanajuato has six students, from which five belong to UG's High School College (CNMS): Johan Axel Alfaro Valadez and Carol Herrera Ramírez from the High School Centro Histórico Leon, Agata Martha Wrobel Kaczmarczyk from HS Guanajuato, Adrrián Alejandro Martínez Salazar and Cynthia Jimena Luna González from HS León; and also Genaro Aldana Chávez from the High School La Salle Bajío-Campus América.
These six students were selected among the preceding 197 students from high school institutions in all the state.
The advisors have constantly supported these students in their preparation for the Olympics of Chemistry are Miguel Ángel Ruíz Torres and Diego Armando Nicasio Tovar from Centro Histórico Leon, María del Carmen Rodríguez Robelo of Guanajuato, Ana Cristina Esqueda Oliva and Salvador Rentería Hernández of Leon.
It is important to mention that the youth who participate in the Chemistry competence have had training since the beginning of the year, with the support and advice of M. Victor Mejía Cobos and Dr. Jesús Raúl Lugo Martínez, state delegates of the Olympics of Chemistry.
Now this youth will seek to raise the name of the state of Guanajuato in the XXV National Olympics of Chemistry that begins Next February 29th in the capital city.
