León, Gto., February 25, 2016.- The University of Guanajuato, Campus Leon, through their Divisions of Health Sciences and Social Sciences & Human Studies, in coordination with the National Academy of Medicine in Mexico began activities of the seminar "Calidad de vida: enfoque ético y filosófico" (Quality of life: ethic and philosophic focus), that will be done once per month and will end with a workshop of population studies.

In the course, they will analyze the quality of life from several focuses on government-democracy and in terms of qualitative and quantitative measurement.

The relevance of the liaison between the National Academy of Medicine in Mexico (ANMM) and the University of Guanajuato (UG) relies on the possibility of generating an analysis between scholars in social sciences and health sciences to contribute the health system of public health in all its levels; the creation and strengthening of public policies, research projects and collaboration networks pertinent to the population's needs.

Since October 17, 2014, the relationship between the Academy and the University of Guanajuato Campus Leon, formalized when they became the host of the Central Chapter of the National Academy of Medicine in Mexico A.C.; led by Dr. Éctor Jaime Ramírez Barba. As a representative and liaison of Campus Leon with the members of the Academy, we find Dr. Elia Lara Lona, researcher-professor of the Department of Medicine and Nutrition in UG.

ANMM is considered a consecrated scientific corporation to promote the study, teaching and research in the field of Medicine, whose breakthrough, pick up, analyze and divulges, with the purpose to update knowledges and orient criteria, both from professionals of health as from the public.

In the first session of the seminar, Dr. Luis Fernando Macías García, Director of the Division of Social Sciences and Human Studies of Campus Leon, addressed the central topic "quality of life" from an ethic and philosophical focus, in which he pointed out that "today's social wellbeing, supports and constructs the possibility of realization of the individuals, is fundamentally associated with the management of different ways to face law and individual responsibility in fields that seems to escape the public domain".
