Guanajuato, Gto. February 24, 2015.- For their effort and dedication in sports, students and professor of the University of Guanajuato were recognized by Guanajuato's city hall and the Municipal Sport and Youth Commission, in the award ceremony of the "Premio Municipal del Deporte 2016".
This award is given to people who stand out in any sport discipline in which they have obtained achievements during 2015.
The female soccer team from the University of Guanajuato ("Abejas UG") obtained the award "Mejor Equipo de Deporte Estudiantil" (Best Student Sport Team), that within their multiple achievements they are the first place in the state of CONDDE 2015, besides of being the 6th place in the "Universiada Nacional" and State Champs of "La Copa Telmex".
This female soccer team is integrated by: Laura Monserrat Gonzalez Parra, Jazmín Fabiola Ojeda Ramos, Ilse Barrón Pérez, Cinthia Nayeli Lozano Becerra, Alejandra Andrade Ríos, Sabina Eréndira Garduño Horvath, Vania Pamela Martínez Godínez, Griselda Ramírez García, Valeria Evelyn Loredo Ortega, María Del Carmen Martínez Anguiano, Roció Ugalde Delgado, Claudia Araceli Luna Hernández, María Del Pilar Rangel Centeno, Susana Raquel Méndez Vázquez, San Juana Aldaco Prieto, Ofelia Palomino Jaime, Rubí Alicia López Rodríguez, Valeria Guzmán Ortiz, Liliana Vera Martínez, Cecilia García Guzmán, Laura Ivett Cabrera García & Hilda Ivon Gasca García.
The prize to "Deporte estudiantil, Mejor Deportista" (Student sport, best athlete), was for Jaime Miranda who in international cycling had an outstanding participation in the 4th place in the cup "UCI C1 Cartago" in Costa Rica and 4th place in the national cycling cup in Tamaulipas, Guanajuato and Aguascalientes 2015.
And as "Mejor entrenador estudiantil" (Best student coach), the award was for the female soccer team's coach of the University of Guanajuato "Abejas UG", René de la Fuente Lara.
This event had the presence of: Representing the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, the Director of UG's Student Development, Lic. Osvaldo Chávez; representing Lic. Isaac Piña Valdivia, General Director of CODE, Eng. Isaías Hernández Ramos; the President of the Commission of Sports, Recreation and Youth of the H. City Hall, P.A. Julio Ortiz Vázquez; H. City Hall's Councilor, Lic. Guillermo Torres Saucedo; President of the Director's Council of COMUDAJ, M. Maria Dolores Lares Treviño and COMUDAJ's General Director, Lic. José Francisco Torres Ramírez.
