The Coordinator of the University of Guanajuato's Cine Club, Lic. Montserrat Alejandri, explains that the locations and particpating countries in the Festival of Horror Cinema "Aurora".

Guanajuato, Gto., February 23, 2016.- The university community, people of Guanajuato and the public, will be able to enjoy the 11th International Festival of Horror Cinema "Aurora", the only university festival in the genre, organized by the Direction of Cultural Extension from the University of Guanajuato (UG).

The event will take place from February 29th to March 5th, as announced in a press conference by its director and founder, Lic. Alejandro Montes Santamaría, who highlighted that this time, "Aurora" will extend its program to the four university campuses and high schools in UG.

The second festival with more time in Mexico, will have as its axis the "Post-apocalyptic" theme, which will serve as a guide for the cinema show, in which they selected a series of movies that cover the theme.

UG's Cine Club's coordinator, Lic. Montserrat Alejandri, highlighted that the inauguration will be next February 29th, first at 18:00 hours, with the opening of the sculpture show of the artist Emil Melmoth in the gallery "El Atrio".

Then, the first movie in the festival called "Atroz" from the Mexican director Lex Ortega will be projected on Monday at 20:00 hours at the Teatro Principal. This feature film tells the story of two serial killers whom the police confiscate video tapes after being arrested for causing a traffic accident. It is precise to mention that, to be able to see this film you need to be an adult since it has explicit violence.

Although "Atroz" is Lex Ortega's opera prima, the audience and the press have already tagged as the cruelest Mexican movie in history and possibly is classified in the top 20 of the most brutal and explicit movies in the world.

Equally, Lic. Alejandro Montes Santamaria, mentioned that for the horror short film contest, in this edition, they received approximately 450 cinematographic works coming from countries such as Belgium, Spain, Chile, United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, France and Mexico, just to mention some.

The 11th International Festival of Horror Cinema "Aurora", will occur in its traditional locations: "Teatro Principal", UG's stairway and the auditorium "Euquerio Guerrero", in addition, this time will have a new location, UG's General Auditorium, generating an enclosure circuit that will please all horror fans in their seventh expression.

To finalize, Lic. Montes Santamaria highlighted that all the activities and projections will be entrance free, with the purpose to open spaces so the people can consume this type of aesthetic.
