Celaya, Gto., February 26, 2016.- The University of Guanajuato through Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, and the Division of Health Sciences and Engineering, --as every year—will join efforts with the Sanitary Jurisdiction III during the National Health Week, with the objective to apply 88, 742 doses of Sabin, biological against poliomyelitis, to children from 6 months to 5 years old.
This vaccine must be applied in the cities of Apaseo el Alto, Apaseo el Grande, Celaya, Tarimoro, Cortazar, Villagrán, Comonfort and Juventino Rosas.
The application technique will be house by house, where more than 500 students from the Nursing degree will participate, who support the work of the Secretary of Health through the Sanitary Jurisdiction within the activities of the National Vaccination Campaign 2016. That is what M. María de Jesús Ramírez García, Area Coordinator of the First Level of Attention for the Division of Health Sciences and Engineering in Campus Celaya-Salvatierra explained.
The vaccines are a mechanism for the control of many infectious diseases that in the past were common. However, the viruses and bacteria that cause diseases, and even death, still exist and can be transmitted to those people who are vaccinated.
M. Ramírez García remarked the importance of bringing the vaccination record because it provides adequate security, handling and follow up to the application of the biologic and that all children get the required dose applied.
