Guanajuato, Gto., February 29, 2016. With the objective to establish a dialogue with the legislators in Guanajuato in the Senate of the Republic, university authorities led by the General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, participated in a work meeting in which they exposed the main challenges, projects and goals in which the House of Studies will work the next months.

At the same time, the encounter allowed the legislators expose their view on the work the University of Guanajuato (UG) develops, plan its uneasiness and visualize common objectives with the institution's authorities.

The institution's General Rector exposed to the senators, some of the programs with more impact, such as the scholarship and regional equity programs, which are focused on supporting the students with low income so they can conclude their college studies, and sustained that it is a priority to reduce the expense of administration, as well as to consolidate the organization model from UG.

Later, the rector of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, Dr. Ma. Guadalupe Ojeda Vargas; rectors Dr. Javier Corona Fernández of Campus Guanajuato; Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez of Campus Leon; Dr. Ernesto Alfredo Camarena Aguilar of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca; and the Director of High School College (CNMS), Q.F.B. Martha Oliva Gallaga Ortega, exposed the projects they considered to have had more impact.

Senators agreed that the format of this meeting allows to directly know the needs of the institution, that is why they offered to be aware of them to back up projects in UG.

At the work session were, Pilar Ortega Martínez, Juan Carlos Romero Hicks and Fernando Torres Graciano, from "Partido Acción Nacional"; and Miguel Ángel Chico Herrera and Gerardo Sánchez García, from "Partido Revolucionario Institucional".

From UG were present, the Secretary of Management and Development, M. Jorge Alberto Romero hidalgo; Academic Secretary, Dr. José Luis Lucio Martínez; M. Margarita Arenas Guzmán, advisor of the "Red Médica" and M. Eloy Juárez Sandoval, Director of Infrastructure and University Services.

At the end of the encounter, UG's Secretary of Management and Development explained that, derived from this meeting, the legislators may be able to help with the negotiation of resources for this year, but above all, for 2017.
