León, Gto., March 1, 2016.- Members from the music group "Pan de Jarabe" (Syrup bread) presented in the facilities of University of Guanajuato's Campus Leon, loc. Forum, the conference: "Al Compás de los Afectos. Los Sonidos del Barroco Novohispano del Siglo XVII" (At the compass of affections, the sounds of the New Hispanic Baroque from the c. XVII)", in which they showed a full historical research job about the music of that time. 

In addition, they presented a discographic material with nine melodies with 36 mins length, which contains adapted versions that allow the sounds of the Mexican baroque that in 1772 had its origins and has evolved incorporating musical instruments.

The attendees --students, professors and public-- got close to a great part of the music history and the social context where they generated thanks to the oral tradition of the first instrumental pieces and the first manuscripts that shaped the musical culture of our cuntry.

The conference was presented by three of the seven members of the group "Pan de Jarabe": Clarisa Hernández Esqueda, who performed her studies in the School of Music of the state of Baja California Sur; Féliz Omar Ruíz, who has presented in different spaces among them the "Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso"; Francisco Fernando Eslava, member of the "Seminario de Investigación Crónicas y Fuentes de Origen Indígena del Siglo XVI Novoshispano" of the "Universidad Autónoma de México".

The speakers explained the relation that exists between music and other artistic manifestations such as dancing and theater, where the historical elements that manifestes in distinct regions of the country gave origin to musical variants because the different forms of execution of the artistic groups.

This way, the group covers the ardous labour of getting the public of our country to its history through music while preserving the musical tradition and presenting in diverse spaces cultural programs backed with historical research.

Lastly, Dr. Natalia Bieletto, researcher professor of the Department of Cultural Studies, thanked the speakers and the attendees for their particpation and does not rule out a new visit from the groups "Pan de Jarabe" to the University of Guanajuato, Campus Leon.
