Guanajuato, Gto., March 9, 2016.- With the objective of divulging a hydric culture in society, the University of Guanajuato (UG) through the Department of Education of the Division of Social Sciences and Human Studies and the Department of Geomatics and Hydraulic Engineering of the Division of Engineering; the "Sistema de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado de Guanajuato (SIMAPAG)"; and the "Dirección General de Ecología y Medio Ambiente" will have an event called "Entre el Agua y la Tierra" (Between Water and Earth).

This initiative will take place from March 15 to March 17 of the present year and will have a program that will include conferences, workshops, contests, among other activities; it is worth mentioning that is directed to the university community and public.

The inauguration will be on March 15th in the Department of Education, loc. Yerbabuena; Wednesday 16th conferences and workshops will be held at the Department of Geomatics Engineering and Hydraulic of the Division of Engineering, location Belen; and lastly, Thursday 17th will continue with diverse activities aimed for all audiences.

In a press conference, the Director of the Department of Geomatics and Hydraulic Engineering of the Division of Engineering at UG's Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Gilberto Carreño Aguilera, thanked the collaboration between instances and highlighted that this rises from a common end, caring for water. He also invited to assist the events that are held in such division.

The President of the Directive Council of SIMAPAG, Lic. Sealtiel Ávalos Santoyo thanked our house of studies the availability to take on these activities and said that the objective is to invite people to participate in actions for the preservation and development of hydric resources, as well as to promote the care and efficient use of water.

Also present were the Director of the Department of Education of the Division of Social Sciences and Human Studies of UG's Campus Guanajuato, M. Luis Jesús Ibarra Manrique and the Head of the "Dirección General de Ecología y Medio Ambiente," Eng. Jorge Humberto Villalobos Enríquez.
