Guanajuato, Gto., March 7, 2016.- After a year of preparation, two young students from High School (HS) Guanajuato obtained an outstanding international participation in Infomatrix 2016, where they obtained the silver medal.
With the project named "Luz verde a la clorofila" (Green light for chlorophyll), the students Jesús Miguel Martínez Rodríguez and Priscila Isabel Robles Martínez, accompanied by the M. María del Carmen Róbelo Rodríguez, who is the project's advisor, participated in the X edition of the Latin American Contest of Computing Projects in South America Ecuador.
The project consists in supplying electric powered energy through chlorophyll to catch solar energy and turn it into electric energy through photosynthesis.
For these young entrepreneurs, the work has not been easy since they have implied a long process in the development within the project, whose effort was reflected in this medal, which represents a great personal and institutional achievement.
The experience these young students have obtained is the teamwork and overcoming the problems, hence, they thanked the support from M. Carmen Róbelo –who has been an important motor for the development of the project—as well as their family to support them in all moments.
This way, the youth managed to put UG in an excellent place internationally for obtaining this silver medal.
