
Guanajuato, Gto., March 7, 2016.- With great success finished the 11th edition of the International Festival of Horror Cinema "Aurora," where short films from different countries were screened, for example, Belgium, Spain, Chile, United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, France, Mexico among others.
This is the only university festival in the genre, and is organized by the University of Guanajuato through the Direction of Cultural Extension, as an initiative from Lic. Alejandro Montes Santamaría.
In the closing ceremony, the winners from the contest of Horror Short movies were awarded, in which they gave the first place to "Tenemos Visita" (We have visit) of Albert Rodríguez and Héctor Colón of Spain, who received an annual pass for the Movie Club of the University of Guanajuato, as well as a bundle of books published by the same university.
The second place was for "Chateau Sauvignon" of David Eli, from United States, who obtained a semiannual pass for the Movie Club, and a bundle of books published in this House of Studies.
Finally, the third place was for "Torment" of Hyunsoo Lee of South Korea, who was handed a quarterly pass for the Movie Club and the corresponding bundle of books.
There were three honorifics mentions in this ceremony; for "Madre de Dios" (Mother of God) of Gigi Saul of Canada/Mexico; for "Hada" (Fairy) of Tony Morales; and "Jealousy" of David Barrera, these last two are from Spain.
The participants in this contest made an original prose and wrote in Spanish; the ambience is some historical fact, in any real or fiction success, where the main axis was the horror story.
It is worth mentioning that in this eleventh edition, were received a total of 450 short films, and screened 51 in the diverse traditional enclosures of this festival, such as "Teatro Principal," UG's Stairway, Auditorium Euquerio Guerrero, and this time, they screened in UG's General Auditorium.
