Guanajuato, Gto., March 14, 2016. Authorities of the University of Guanajuato (UG) subscribed an agreement of collaboration with the "Asociación de Ingenieros de Minas, Metalurgistas, Geólogos de México, A.C. (AIMMGM)" with the purpose to improve the quality of teaching students of Earth's sciences receive while they form in the Maximum House of Studies.

This collaboration will allow the development of research projects, planning and design of conferences, symposiums, diplomas and courses in general and update programs; programs for professional residencies and scholarships for students of excellence.

In addition, the University of Guanajuato will contribute with articles and reviews for the magazine "Geomimet", with the intention to raise the quality standards of the publication in charge of AIMMGM.

In the event, UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, emphasized that to strengthen the institutions, they require strategic links, such as the one formalized by the University of Guanajuato with the association of mining engineers.

After thanking the association of mining engineers for depositing their trust in the House of Studies, offered a multidisciplinary link, support to create continuous education courses and collaboration to develop projects that redound in benefits for both parties.

On his behalf, the president of the National Directive Committee (CDN) of AIMMGM, Dr. Manuel Reyes Cortés, revealed that in the country currently exist more than 16 thousand students of Earth's Sciences, and to win spaces in the job market, it is necessary to raise the quality of teaching.

We need –sustained—professionals with a calling, so he exhorted the educational institutions to work on this aspect since the students' course the middle level.

In representation of the AIMMGM members, he offered to the University of Guanajuato economic support to pay for courses, conferences and training programs with international experts, since this association has a budget for this area.

In his welcome message, UG's Director of Liaison, Dr. Salvador Hernández Castro, showed that the University of Guanajuato occupies the third place in the nation in granted patents for universities, and highlighted the importance of working in liaison projects with the industry and in developing research that solve concrete needs.
While the Director of the Department of Engineer in Mines, Metallurgy and Geology of Campus Guanajuato, M. Federico Vogel González, highlighted in first place the support –previous to the agreement—AIMMGM has offered the students of the University of Guanajuato.

After revealing that in the country are 25 universities and 15 technologic schools that form professionals in earth's sciences, he reaffirmed that the Maximum House of studies of the state has a strong commitment with educational quality, and it strengthens when signing the agreement with the miner association.

In the agreement signing were present, from UG, Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández; Director of the Division of Engineering, Dr. Luis Enrique Mendoza Puga; Professor at UG and editor of the magazine Geomimet; M. Elia Mónica Morales Zárate, and the coordinator of the Engineering program in Mines, Metallurgy and Geology at UG, M. Juan José Martínez Reyes.

From the AIMMGM delegation attended the Administrative Vice president, Eng. José Pérez Reynoso; the president of the AIMMGM's District Guanajuato; Eng. Victor Manuel Hernández Manríquez; the General Manager of AIMMGM; Lic. César Vázquez Talavera and ex-president of the district Guanajuato and Ex-president of the National Directive Council of the Association, Eng. Estanislao Zárate Lujano.
