Guanajuato, Gto., March 14, 2016.- The Division of Engineering from Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG) began the accreditation process of their programs in Environmental, Civil, Geomatics and Hydraulics Engineering issued by the Council of Accreditation of Engineering Teaching (CACEI for its acronym in Spanish).

The General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino welcomed the evaluators and dais that in UG, these processes are assumed as an opportunity to evaluate the educational programs and resume the search of continuous improvement.

In his message –through a video—he expressed the university's social commitment to offer educational programs that mold students who through the professional know-how create an impact with benefic action for society.

The CACEI, is the first accrediting instance that constitutes in the country, and its main objective is to guarantee that the higher-education institutions (IES) offer quality education to the future graduates through the accreditation of these educational programs in this field of knowledge.

In representation of CACEI, from the "Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila", Eng. José Abdón Padilla Hernández highlighted that the functions of the evaluators are fundamental in the accreditation process, because from their experience they contribute to the development and improvement of the engineering education programs in the country. Likewise, he congratulated the University by continuing with the procedures of improvement and updates that allow forming professionals to work in benefit of the ambience's demands.

On his behalf, the Rector of Campus Guanajuato of UG, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández recognized the teamwork that has been done in the Division of Engineering since submitting to this evaluation implies months of work. He also reinforced his commitment to continue strengthening these programs.

From the University of Guanajuato also attended the event the Academic Secretary of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Claudia Gutiérrez Padilla; Director of the Division of Engineering, Dr. Luis Enrique Mendoza Puga; Director of the Department of Civil Engineering, Eng. Francisco Huerta Castillo; Director of the Department of Geomatics and Hydraulic Engineering, Dr. Gilberto Carreño Aguilera; and the Academic Secretary of the Division of Engineering, M. Victor Guillermo Flores Rodríguez.
