Guanajuato, Gto., MArch 14, 2016.- Sponsored by the Division of Social Sciences and Human Studies (DCSH) and Campus Guanajuato, the Class "José Revueltas" of Philosophy and Literature and the Department of Hispanic Letters, began the "Second International Congress of Spanish American Literature. Critique, poetry and theory" that will develop from March 14th to 16th in the venues Valenciana and Iconographic Museum of Quijote.

During the opening ceremony of this encounter, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández, Rector of Campus Guanajuato, said that literature is a form to know the world, and acts directly on our intellect but also about our feelings and communicates directly a concrete reality.

He observed that the program would give notice of the richness the literary expression has and what it has had in the University of Guanajuato for over 60 years, a line of continuity that brings us together now. The rector of campus Guanajuato congratulated the event's organizers and gave a warm welcome to Dr. Francisco Esteves from the "Universidad Carlos III" of Madrid, who gave a course within activities of the Class "José Revueltas" and an academic who participates in the Congress with the talk "Voces selectas de la narrative Española 2015" (Select voice of Spanish narrative 2015).

Dr. Aureliano Ortega Esquivel's task, Director of the Division of Social Sciences and Human Studies, was to welcome the attendees and Dr. Benjamín Valdivia Magdaleno, Coordinator of Advisors of the University of Guanajuato, attend representing Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, UG's General Rector.

At the Congress, they will dissert on literature and visual arts, satirical sonnet, Cuban voices, literature from northern Mexico, great Mexican writers, Colombian narrators, from Chile, great Mexican narrators, among other topics.

Likewise, there will be magister conferences "Distopías en el Territorio de la Mancha: un balance transatlántico del siglo XXI" given by Dr. Pablo Sánchez López from the "Universidad de Sevilla"; "Entre el Estado y el mercado, o ciertos espejismos de la literatura mexicana reciente" offered by Dr. Gabriel Wolfson from the "Universidad de las Americas Puebla" and "Guaman Poma y la negación de la conquista" by Dr. Carlos García Bedoya. All the magister conferences will be at the Iconographic Museum of Quijote.
