Guanajuato, Gto., March 17, 2016.- On behalf of Campus Guanajuato from the University of Guanajuato (UG), the Academic Secretary, Dr. Claudia Gutiérrez Padilla, handed certificates to the students who concluded the Diploma "Mining Cultural Heritage," that is part through the activities of continuous education from the Department of Studies of Culture and Society from the Division of Social Sciences and Human Studies.

Representing the personnel of Dr. Javier Corona Fernández, Rector of Campus Guanajuato; Dr. Gutierrez Padilla congratulated who participated in this diploma and the university professors, because of the patrimonial richness from the state of Guanajuato is renowned nationally and internationally and for it UG, as an institution engages with knowledge and social development, it is known about the responsibility that shares with other institutions for the custody, conservation and responsible diffusion of the patrimonial assets.

This diploma was created as an activity of the non-profit educational and cultural project "Museo de Sitio Mina Valenciana," that it is done with the participation of the company Great Panther Silver Limited. The objective is the permanent training of collaborators and volunteers and offered annually. The first was in 2013 and trained students from the degrees in History and Spanish Letters of Campus Guanajuato, Culture and Art of Campus Leon, neighbors of the Valenciana community and retired and active miners.

In the third version of the Diploma –developed from October 2015 to March 2016—invited to participate collaborators from other museums, such as the regional "Alhóndiga de Granaditas" and the Gallery "Mariana de la Basílica Colegiata", as well as civil associations.

It is important to remark that the directors of the Division of Social Sciences and Human Studies have always supported so the Diploma is free for the participants, since they generally are collaborators or volunteers of non-profit projects, and unattended population.

In his message, M. Diego León Rábago, Director of the Department of Studies of Culture and Society, thanked the mining company and university authorities for making this project possible and reminded that the idea to open a museum of the Valenciana still present, for which they have positively worked with M. Ada Marina Lara Meza, co-founder of the Excellence Class Heritage and Rolando Briseño, Coordinator of Museology and Liaison of the Site Museum Mina Valenciana, which still is in an integration phase although they trust that this year will be legally formalized.

In his opportunity, Rolando Briseño presented progress of the project and Mariana Fregonese, Director of Corporate Communications and Sustainability of Great Panther Silver Limited, reaffirmed the commitment of the mining business with such project. In the ceremony was also present, the Director of City Tourism, Lic. Salvador Jaime Arroyo.

The student who received the diploma were: Ángel Álvarez González, retired miner; Ana Lucía González Aguilera, student from the degree in History; Adrián Martínez Rodríguez, student from the degree in History and volunteer in the Museum Mina Valenciana; Rosa Linda Morales Ortega, cultural promoter in the Regional Museum Alhóndiga de Granaditas; Bertha Elisa Plaza Motta, collaborator in Museum Mina Valenciana; Adriana de los Ángeles Ontiveros Calvillo & Sofía Adriana Rivera Arenas, students of History and collaborators in Museum Mina Valenciana; Dolores Patricia Vargas Gallardo, coordinator of the Gallery Mariana; Miguel Ángel Vera Sansón, cultural promoter and director of a civil association and Doris Zendejas, cultural promoter.
