
Guanajuato, Gto., March 28, 2016.- Guanajuato's Governor, Lic. Miguel Márquez Márquez, took an oath before the members of the Director's Council of the Innovation System of the state of Guanajuato.
Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, General Rector of the University of Guanajuato (UG), was present in the act as a representative of the academy before such system, whose purpose is to compose the structure to support scientific research, technological development and at the same time, constitutes as a network of information and collaboration between institutions.
Lic. Edgar Castro Cerrillo, municipal president of Guanajuato, welcomed the attendees and congratulated himself for the creation of the organism, pointing out that it will contribute in establishing a brand new scientific model in the state, which will place it in the vanguard; hence, the government, in their different orders, must be a facilitator for the new processes of technological and scientific development.
On his behalf, Dr. Arturo Lara López, Secretary of Innovation, Science and Higher Education (SICES), manifested that with the instauration of the system, they will be facing several challenges; among them, consolidating the scientific capability in Guanajuato in the national ambience, as well as fortifying and consolidating the liaison between academy and society, boost the creation of technology based businesses as a complement and support for the development of the current industry, among others.
At the end of the act, Lic. Miguel Márquez Márquez, had an intervention expressing his support to this initiative and congratulating each one of the members, urging them about the commitment of an arduous and coordinated work. In the same way, he enjoined in conserving the optimism to boost a vision whose base is innovation, as a unique characteristic in humans, that allows us to keep on moving and developing.
In this event were also present the representatives from the Legislative and Judicial powers of the state, from higher-education institutions, from the business sector, from civil society, as well as authorities from the distinct orders and special guests.
