Guanajuato, Gto., March 27, 2016.- Ana Montiel is a graduate in Plastic Arts by the University of Guanajuato (UG) and currently is a curator, promoter and producer focused in contemporary art.

Ana describes her work as an opportunity to engulf the artistic proposals, being a mediator between the artists and institutions. In 2008, she founded a cultural production and promotion stamp called "Project Antipasto," which is done by promoting cultural activities of the hand of institutions.

Project Antipasto emerges as part of her degree project and has the objective to divulge, especially in the Bajío –for being her place of origin—contemporary art proposals and break the limitations of communication with art.

Her academic formation has been fundamental in the work she now does, because she focuses it creatively, making artistic or cultural proposals and always practices what she has learned in the degree.

Montiel highlights that making this work within the cultural scenario of Mexico, is a constant challenge, since the importance for the work she makes is not often recognized; besides she said that through the years, she had been able to notice the necessity in the public to experiment and know new proposals.

Ana has independently made several festivals, forums, artistic activities and workshops. An example of these is the festival of sound art "Transonica" and the sample "Tech Noir."

Ana Montiel mentioned, from her point of view, when art becomes a turning point to transgress the barriers imposed by society, is when the transcendence and social transformation arrive.
