estudiantes-de-intercambio

Guanajuato, Gto., April 4, 2016. In March 1990, the University of Guanajuato (UG) signed the first agreement with a Japanese higher-education institution, Soka University. Today, the house of studies has seventeen partner institutions in Japan with whom has made from academic exchanges and short cultural immersion programs to double degree agreements.

As part of the mobility programs, the University of Guanajuato receives students from Nagaoka University of Technology, Soka University, Chubu University, Shiga University, and the Agency ISEP (International Student Exchange Program). In the same way, UG students have the equivalent opportunity to make semiannual and annual stays in the same institutions.

Derived from the collaboration bonds established along two decades, in 2010 was celebrated a double degree agreement in the Master level and two years later, one in the Doctorate levels with Nagaoka University of Technology, both in the area of Chemistry. They currently are running the negotiations for a double degree doctorate between the school of Postgraduate in Engineering from Hiroshima University and the Division of Engineering of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca.

The benefits from the collaboration with Japanese educational institutions have extended to UG's high school, thanks to the creation of the Technological Baccalaureate with International Profile (BTPI for its acronym in Spanish), which develops in agreement with four "Kosen" or national institutes of technology; Fukushima, Ibaraki, Nagaoka and Oyama. In addition, there is an agreement on the process with Tsuruoka College.

The BTPI –taught in its early stages at HS Guanajuato and HS Salamanca—allows the students to have access to classes with Kosen teachers and teachers from higher education at UG, and participate in semiannual or short-duration academic exchanges.

The collaboration with the Japanese Universities allows each year for UG to receive students from the universities of Setsunan, Shiga, Chubu and Soka, who participate in academic-cultural stays with a duration between two and four weeks.
