Guanajuato, Gto., April 8, 2016.- The purpose is to continue with the integration of the Institutional Program of Gender Equity, so authorities from the University of Guanajuato (UG) gathered with state and federal legislators to maintain a dialogue in which they planned objectives and strategies.

Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, UG's General Rector expressed that the topic has an important transcendence and a transversal interest for the development of the institutional life; he opened his intervention with a contextual framework to to continuelater with dialogue and comments from the attendees.

He pointed out the topic circumscribes to a broader one; human rights, a concept that is intimately linked with the mission of the University.

In this context the coordinator of the Instuttional Program UGénero, Dr. Cirila Cervera Delgado, alluded to the project of Institutional Development presented by who now is General Rector, where he emphasizes about the concept of inclusion, which allowed him to set the foundation to start this project.

He emphasized that "given the diversity, not only from gender, we must procure that all orientations from the University are directed to guarantee the inclusion."

In her intervention, the C. Mayra Enríquez Vanderkam proposed that in the work to be done, the academic, administrative and each area personnel must be involved, with the objective to sensitize in the matter of gender and generate a culture that later permeates in its environment.

On his part, C. Jesús Oviedo Herrera, proposed to include the activity of diffusion of the processes to file complaints for gender violence like a strategic line within the mentioned program. And likewise, include the self-esteem and respect topic, values that any gender equity proposal must contain.

In her intervention, C. Leticia Villegas Nava indicated that "it is very important to follow up all actions made and at the same time measure the results, so the good intentions may be effective."

C. Erika Arroyo Bello exposed that the topic of gender is very broad, so she proposed to prioritize, considering as a basis the legal assets which are affected, meaning, that what endangers the integrity of people.

She also planted the idea to include information campaigns, in which they have to conceptualize and precise the terms, for example, "violence against women, a deep-rooted cultural phenomenon that tends to normalize and end with these patterns" she warned.

C. María Guadalupe Velázquez Díaz, assured that with these actions the University is in the right path, since "we all are in favor of the inclusion of women, of the participation balance between men and women".

At the dialogue table were present the Senator Ma. del Pilar Ortega Martínez, Legislators from the XXIII Legislature of the H. Union Congress, Lorena del Carmen Alfaro García, Adriana Elizarraraz, Karina Padilla Ávila, Alejandra Noemí Reynoso Sánchez and the Legislators from the LXIII Legislature of the H. Union Congress of the state of Guanajuato, Angélica Casillas Martínez, Araceli Medina Sánchez, Estela Chávez Cerrillo, Arcelia María González González e Irma Leticia González Sánchez.

From Ug were present the Pro Vost, Dr. Héctor Efraín Rodríguez de la Rosa, General Comptroller, M. Adriana de Santiago Álvarez; Director of Planning, M. Josefina Ortiz Medel, Advisers' coordinator, Dr. Benjamín Valdivia and the advisor M. Margarita Arenas Guzmán.
