Guanajuato, Gto., April 11, 2016.- With the firm conviction, that culture and music are public assets, the Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato (OSUG), will offer a concert at the city of Doctor Mora next Thursday April 14 at 18:00.

This was revealed at a press conference in which the Academic Secretary of the University of Guanajuato (UG), Dr. José Luis Lucio Martínez, indicated that with these action they achieve a greater presence of the University in the society, especially a concert from OSUG, event that answers the fulfillment of the university's vision and values.

Equally, he said that the University of Guanajuato constantly works with the objective to establish strategic alliances to promote art and culture. He highlighted that the concert will be special, because after 13 of not presenting in the state's northeast, OSUG will play a quality concert in such a region.

On his behalf, head of the OSUG, M. Roberto Beltrán Zavala, asserted that "for the orchestra is very important to address the most public possible, we owe to people from Guanajuato. All the government instances and university authorities and musicians are engaged with the same, which is diffuse and take music to a lot of people":

The major of the city of Doctor Mora, Lic. Christian Flavio Ríos García, thanked the University of Guanajuato for the initiative. He highlighted that Doctor Mora has the necessary infrastructure to host these great events; the place for the concert will be the "Polideportivo," enclosure with space for 1500 attendees.

"This musical event reinforces culture in our city, same that has a strategic role, since geographically is very close to other regions to the northeast that can enjoy the concert too," mentioned Lic. Ríos García.

Regarding the program, M. Roberto Beltrán Zavala commented that OSUG musicians will play a repertoire of music from the c. XVIII and will be accompanied by the soloist, Asaf Kolerstein, an outstanding international cellist.

At first, they will play "Concert for cello in D major, Hob VIIb: 2" from the composer Franz Joseph Haydn. Then they will play "Concert of Brandenburg no. 3 in G major" of Johann Sebastian Bach and lastly, the attendees would hear the "Symphony no.7 in C major, Hob, I: 7 Le Midi" also from Franz Joseph Haydn.

At the press conference were also present: Dr. Sarah Julsrud, Director of Cultural Extension of the University of Guanajuato and Eng. Alfredo Mosqueda, Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Center of the Northeast from the University of Guanajuato (CINUG).
