
Celaya, Gto., April 11, 2016.- The fifth edition of the Regional Art Festival 2016 was inaugurated in the facilities of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra from the University of Guanajuato (UG).
Dr. Ma. Guadalupe Ojeda Vargas, Rector of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra in his inaugural speech of the "Regional Art Festival Celaya 2016," mentioned the importance of linking art with the development among the students and welcomed the local artists who collaborate in this edition.
As part of the program, the group of versatile music integrated by Adriana Aguilar, Karen Ávila, Edgar Ávila and Alexis Sandoval participated, equally, the folkloric ballet integrated by Diana González, Joselyn Solís, Elizabeth Ortega, and Erick Bravo who played a regional stamp.
Likewise, the national collective expo from the "Asociación de Artistas Plásticos de México A.C." (ARTAC) "Inmersos en el arte" (Immerse in art) was inaugurated, and the collective expo of painting "taller de paisaje Eliseo Mijangos" and within the ceremony was also the collective expo of painting "Nueva propuesta plástica celayense".
To this protocol event assisted authorities, professors and students from the institution, together with ARTAC's committee, who was charmed and thankful with the artistic participation from campus.
It is worth mentioning the work of Madonnari (artist who uses chalks or pastels to create paintings in the floor) since it was great interest for the spectators, who enjoyed the work from Sebastian Moreno, author from Acámbaro, Guanajuato, who made in the library's dome the mural of Diego Rivera, and explained to the youth the importance of expression and reflect of their thoughts through art with chalks.
There will be twelve representative groups in total that will join the fifth edition of this festival and participate with folkloric dance, pantomime, Latin American music, modern dance, violin, Polynesian dance, storyteller, theater, Rondalla and the estudiantina from Campus Celaya-Salvatierra.
