Guanajuato, Gto., April 12, 2016.- With the piano and soprano concert presentation, offered respectively by Tania Chávez and Guadalupe Colorado, began the "Encounter of Musical research and Musicology" in the Arts building of the venue Marfil from UG's Campus Guanajuato, before students and professors from the Department of Music in the Division of Art, Architecture and Design.

Such encounter will develop throughout the week under the organization of Dr. Fabrizio Ammetto and Dr. Roberto González Manzanares, with an academic and artistic program that will extend to October in Veracruz and Monterrey.

It is worth mentioning that the encounter framed in the project denominated "Products of Musical Creation/interpretation and Musicological Research", approved in 2015 by the "Secretaría de Educación Pública", proposed by the Themed Network of Academic Collaboration, named "Network of Academic Bodies of Musical and Musicological Research".

The main activity of this network will be the organization and realization of three academic weeks –in Guanajuato, Xalapa and Monterrey, respectively—that will include concerts, round tables and master classes, involving students and professors from the different institutions that form the network.

In that order, the first session of academic activities is made in Campus Guanajuato, in the Department of Music and began this Monday April 11th with a soprano and piano concert, and by the afternoon, a master class of singing and piano, both taught by Guadalupe Colorado and Tania Chávez.

Guadalupe Colorado won in 1996 the contest "Jóvenes Valores" (Youth values) of the Symphonic Orchestra of Xalapa. In his wide curriculum stands out that she graduated from the Faculty of Music of the "Universidad Veracruzana" with honorific mention in 1997 and in 2000 she graduates as Konzertsaengerin (Concert singer), specialized in Lied and Oratory, in the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Graz, Austria, being the first Latin American accepted under the tutorship of Christine Whittlesey and Karl-Heinz Donauer.

Tania Chávez Náder began her musical studies in the Children's Center of Musical Initiation (CIMI) and in the Faculty of Music both from the "Universidad Veracruzana". Among her achievements, she has been winner of two Fulbright-García Robles scholarships, same that allowed her to make postgraduate studies to obtain first, a double Master in Interpretation and Pedagogy of piano from Houston University and then the Doctorate in Musical Interpretation in Arizona State University.

The second session of the network to be celebrated in Xalapa, Veracruz, will be from September 26 to October 1st and the last one in Monterrey, from October 7th to 13th. It is worth mentioning that the members of such network are: The University of Guanajuato, the "Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León", the "Universidad Veracruzana"; the Group dedicated to composition, analysis and interpretation of post-tonal vanguard music from the City University of New York (US); the Homologous group of post-tonal music of Rice University (US) and the "Composition Group" of the University of Manchester (UK).
