There will be an homage to the founder musicians of this emblematic artistic group from UG
Guanajuato, Gto., April 15, 2016.- Next Saturday April 16, at 20:00 hrs., the "Estudiantina" from the University of Guanajuato (UG) will commemorate 53 years of bringing joy to the life of people in Guanajuato through their music at the "Teatro Principal" in the city of Guanajuato.
The project from the Estudiantina from the University of Guanajuato began in March 1962 by inspiration from Joaquín "El Flaco" Arias", although the official debut was a Friday April 13th in 1963, in the Plaza San Roque in the capital of the state.
On Saturday there will be an homage for their founders: Dr. Marco Antonio Guerrero González, Eng. Pedro Luis Martínez Aguirre and Joaquín "El Flaco" Arias, who have left an important legacy for the history of this artistic group.
The origins of the Estudiantina go back to 1960, when students –big part of them from the school of architecture—gathered to have a good time and make pleasant diverse reunions, this group formed by Amaldo Martínez Martínez, Ismael Ruíz Ruíz, Carlos Villaseñor Robles, Jesús Pérez Salazar, Antonio Espino Hurtado, Eleuterio Alonso González, Mario Felipe Vargas Muñoz, José Luis Acevedo Rodríguez, Manuel Laing Castañeda & Marco Antonio Guerrero González.
The Estudiantina from the School of Architecture from the University of Guanajuato is an important background for what today is UG's estudiantina, since he left Dr. Marco Antonio Guerrero González as an intermediary, who was member of both estudiantinas.
Eng. Pedro Luis Martínez adapted and arranged the first songs that were recorded, among them are "El Silbidito" (The whistling), "Dominus Tecum" and "Preguntale a las Estrellas", among other melodies that today are a reference in the actual repertoire of the estudiantina.
Currently the estudiantina from the University of Guanajuato, continues pleasing people in Guanajuato with their delivery and commitment, without forgetting the origin and inspiration of the same.
To the anniversary, event will attend the tuno founders of this important musical project.
