
Guanajuato, Gto., April 14, 2016.- Students from the University of Guanajuato (UG) are winners of the contest "Road to Japan 2016", in which they qualified skills such as leadership and social commitment.
This program issued by the State Government through the "Insituto de Financiamiento e Información para la Educación" (EDUCAFIN) is aimed for Higher-education institutions from the state of Guanajuato to make a tour of international mobility and cultural exchange in Japan.
"Road to Japan" seeks to boost the global leadership within the student community of Guanajuato through the knowledge of culture, government and economic development. With the experience generated within the program, the youth have the possibility to obtain a personal learning that directly impacts in benefit of the community from where they come from.
The seven finalists from UG in this contest are: Mariela Sánchez Núñez, from the Division of Health Science and Engineering from Campus Celaya-Salvatierra; Jaime Loyola Rangel, from the Division of Engineering; María Guadalupe Vázquez Hernández, from the Interdisciplinary Center of the Northeast; Quetzal Ehekatl Salgado Heiman, from the Division of Life Science, all three from Campus Irapuato-Salamanca; Alejandro Domínguez López Velarde, from the Division of Law, Politics and Government; Everardo Jaramillo Rocha from the Division of Engineering, from Campus Guanajuato; Juan Francisco Gerardo García Ruiz, from the Division of Social Sciences and Human Studies from Campus León.
Students from our educative community represent the indigenous cultures, promoters of social entrepreneurship and the societies of students at UG, who will travel to Japan from May 20 to 30 and will have the opportunity to know the costumes and traditions of this Asian world power.
It is worth mentioning that the student who won the summon work in social impact projects in their places of origin.
