Guanajuato, Gto., April 14, 2016.- The student from the sixth semester from High School Irapuato, Estivalli Medrano, made an exchange to Colombia to volunteer to work with children in vulnerable situations.

Estivalli, made her exchange participating in the organization (AIESEC) which seeks to develop the potential of leadership in youth through learning experiences, volunteer experiences and corporate practice.

In an interview, she excitedly explained that the exchange experience changed her life vision, since she learned a lot and realized that there a lot of things to do in the world.

The student had a practice in the foundation of Adriana Gutiérrez, professional model and vice queen of Miss Universe, "I was working within the area of Sincelejo, together with other volunteers; we offered a six-week course to children between 5 and 14 years; we gave them classes of Portuguese and also spoke a lot about values such as friendship, honesty, etc."

Estivalli commented that her stay was for six weeks, in which she was accompanied by youth from Nicaragua, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Bolivia, Brazil and Germany. Equally, the student participated in a cultural fair where every country had to show their way of life, as well as their costumes and traditions.

"At the beginning, I told my parents about my intention to leave in exchange, they weren't sure to let me go, but in the end, I gave them all the necessary information and AISEC's personnel talked with them, and that's how they were calm. At the end, it was a valuable experience that has helped me grow in many levels" she explained.

To finalize, Estivalli Medrano invited all the high-school students from the University of Guanajuato to approach the program and generate new experiences that make them learn different cultures, ways of life and teamwork.

"Leadership is the key word, because that is where everything comes, you feel the capability to lead, and you can achieve a lot of things. She invited all the students to not be afraid of going into a different territory, on the contrary, go with pleasure and share what you know. Go for it!" she concluded.

It is worth mentioning that AISEC is the largest youth network around the world that generates positive impact in society through personal development and international experiences.
