Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez remarked the academic quality and talen that distinguish the members of the University of Guanajuato, as well as the liaison with the social sector.

Guanajuato, Gto., April 19, 2016. Leading the report of activities from Campus Leon's university community corresponding to 2015, Rector Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez, highlighted the quality and excellence that distinguish this Campus of the University of Guanajuato (UG), as well as the support the institution grants its students, professors and administrative personnel.

In his message, Dr. Hidalgo Valadez sustained that Campus León, has the vision of being an academic entity whose guiding axel is the area of health, and at the same time, encourages the multidisciplinary work in other areas, such as Social Sciences and Human Studies and Science and Engineering.

In the matter of infrastructure, he showed that at the end of 2016; they will have finished the construction of the levels 2 and 3 from the Laboratory tower; the next stage of the Division of Health Sciences and the construction of the bioterium, among other constructions.

In addition, for 2017 will be concluded, next to the venue San Carlos, the new General Hospital of Leon with whom UG will be tightly linked.

The venue San Carlos visualizes itself as a university city of health, "it will be a cluster of health in the state and regional level that will have in these facilities the necessary services to address the university community and society", assured the Rector from Campus Leon.

After recognizing the students who have shone in the academic and sport ambiance, as well as professors, researchers and other members from the Campus community who distinguishes for their achievements, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo sustained the "UG inspires society to believe that goals can be reached and that there can be actions for the common good".

During the informed period, at UG's Campus Leon, 1,078 undergraduate students received scholarships, which is equal to 46.4% of the students at that level, in addition, in 2015 the enrollment of Campus increased 4.19%.

With three academic divisions and twelve departments, the Campus closed the year with 55 educational programs, 21 degrees and 34 postgraduates.

Representing the university community, UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, congratulated members from Campus Leon for the progress made throughout 2015, but also expressed his recognition "to all before us" and made possible what today UG is.

From this Campus "have emerged students who have raised high in the name of our University of Guanajuato," each achievement of a Campus, and every problem, influences in all the community, said when referring to the integration that exists in the campuses from the house of studies.

He added that a report was the space to locate us in retrospective with what have we done, and in perspective too, hence, he enumerated the challenges that come in UG, as the normative reform, the improvement in administrative processes; as well as the implementation of new policies and strategies to increase the terminal efficiency and give an adequate follow-up to graduates.

In his intervention, the representative of the Municipal President of Leon, Lic. Héctor López Santillana, the General Director of Municipal Education, P.A. Carlos Alfredo Torres Moreno, highlighted the agreements that have been established with the University of Guanajuato and allow to work together in the solution of the problems the city of Leon faces, "expression of an authentic citizen participation", so he thanked the support that has always found in UG and trusted in maintaining and increasing this collaboration.

At the ceremony held in the venue Forum of Campus, attended UG authorities, such as the Pro Vost, Dr. Héctor Efraín Rodriguez de la Rosa; Academic Secretary, Dr. Jose Luis Lucio Martínez; Secretary of Management and Development, M. Jorge Alberto Romero Hidalgo; Academic Secretary of Campus Leon, Dr. Luxana Reynaga Ornelas; members of the board and unipersonal authorities, among other representatives from the house of studies; as well as local deputy Dr. Éctor Jaime Ramírez Barba.
