Guanajuato, Gto., April 19, 2016.- The "Course-Workshop of Religious Arts and Devotions" will begin with an organ concert that will happen today April 19 at 20:00 in the "Basílica Colegiata de Nuestra Señora de Guanajuato".

The concert will be in charge of the director of the Choir from the University of Guanajuato, M. José Francisco Martínez, who will interpret in the tube organ in the basilica, plays from S. Bach, G. Frescobaldi, D. Zípoli, among others.

Furthermore, the very own Martínez will give the introductory talk "Singing and liturgy: spheres of the sacred".

It is precise to mention that this Course-workshop is part of the Seminar or Cultural and Natural Heritage, activity linked with the teaching program from the Department of History from the University of Guanajuato. The program will review the historical trajectory of the parish church in Guanajuato, today Basilica Colegiata, as well as the image Mariana in her link to the city.

Equally, there will be conferences, workshops, studies of significance of images, collective memory about ritual spaces, expos and printed publications with the theme of this course.

The course's coordination is in charge of Dr. José Luis Lara, renowned historian, teacher and researcher; the inscription is free; the interested assume the personal expenses of programmed activities, and the ones required to follow up this course. In the inscription, you choose the modality of participation, which will deliver a record of use, as long as they fulfill at least 80% of the program's activities.

The entrance to the concert in the Basilica Colegiata of Ntra. Sra. de Guanajuato, is free.
