Guanajuato, Gto., April 20, 2016.- With the finality to commemorate the 400th death anniversary of Miguel Cervantes de Saavedra, began the "Circuit of the Word. Between letters of Cervantes" which will have activities in seventeen cities throughout the state of Guanajuato from today until November 30th.

This circuit is done with support from the University of Guanajuato (UG), through the Direction of Cultural Extension; together with the state government of Guanajuato through the "Instituto Estatal de la Cultura" (IEC) and H. City Hall of Guanajuato through the General Direction of Tourism and Municipal Direction of Culture and Education.

Representing the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, UG's Director from Cultural Extension, Dr. Sara Julsrud López said that it is very grateful to participate in this circuit of transcendence in the state of Guanajuato.

She informed that the University's participation will be with screening from Movie Club from April 20 to 23; with the presentation of the "Teatro Universitario" with the play of the entremeses "Los Habladores" on April 23rd at 18:30 in the Plaza San Francisco; and with the editorial support of "La Rana," with the works "Sancho Gobernador" and "El Curioso impertinente".

IEC's General Director, Dr. Juan Alcoce Flores said that there will be 734 artistic events in which artists from Guanajuato will mainly participate, and assured that this celebration stands-out for being the greatest homage in the world dedicated to the Spanish literate, who would leave a footprint, with the famous work "El Ingenioso Hidalgo de Don Quijote de la Mancha."

He highlighted that the seventeen cities of the state of Guanajuato, where the circuit will go are: Irapuato, Abasolo, Acámbaro, Apaseo el Alto, Guanajuato, San José Iturbide, San Luis de la Paz, Salvatierra, Yuriria, Valle de Santiago, Pénjamo, Juventino Rosas, Comonfort, Dolores Hidalgo, Purísima del Rincón, Dr. Mora and León.

From his part, representing the General Director of the "Festival Internacional Cervantino" (FIC), Dr. Jorge Volpi, FIC's Director of planning, Lic. Lorena Flores Alvares, informed that there will be more than a thousand activities among dancing, music, theater, academic activities, workshops, expos and contests that will integrate this Magnus programming of FIC.

She added that the menu foresees twelve world premieres, two premieres in America and eight in the country. In addition, the presentation of the dramatic play of Miguel de Cervantes; and the participation of twelve countries.

This event occurred with a tour by the "Circuit of the Word: Between letters from Cervantes" from Teatro Juarez to Teatro Cervantes, harmonized by the Estudiantina from the University of Guanajuato and continuous stops with artistic reflexes of the play of Manco de Lepanto.
