
Guanajuato, Gto., April 21, 2016.- With the objective of establishing a mechanism of participation between several higher education institutions, represented by the University of Guanajuato (UG), the "Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México" (UNAM), the Center of Research in Optics (CIO), as well as authorities from the municipal and state government, the "Festival of arts, science and human studies" was inaugurated.
Such event occurred in the facilities of the "Explora" Park in the city of Leon, with this, they pretend to divulge art, science and culture, as well as to pay attention to the population that lives in the higher-risk polygons in the city of Leon, due to that several events of the festival will develop in vulnerable zones.
During the inaugural protocol, the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, mentioned: "the institutions of higher education join our efforts to make this festival under a common vision, the transcendence of education. Furthermore, we coincide with that science in art, and human studies must me democratized and reach every person and society, because that's how we only complete our social commitment as educative institution."
In his behalf, director of ENES UNAM Unit León, M. Javier de la Fuente Hernández, thanked all the institutions who make the festival possible, he said that this is the first of many actions they want to make in Leon and invited all the citizens to integrate to the programming, assisting conferences, workshops and artistic presentations.
The municipal president of Leon, Lic. Héctor López Santillana, extended a deep thank you to the University of Guanajuato for being part of the festival, likewise, he expressed his gratitude to the other higher education institutions and made way for the presentation of UNAM's Choreographic Workshop, which presented "The Swan Lake."
It is worth mentioning that this is the first time they execute this joint effort, which will primarily attend the habitants in the polygons "Las Joyas" and "Leon I". Furthermore, important to highlight, is that Campus Leon from the University of Guanajuato will participate in several activities and will be part of some events.
In the event, were also present, the Rector of Campus Leon from UG, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez; UG's Pro Vost, Dr. Héctor Efraín Rodríguez de la Rosa; and CIO's Director, Dr. Elder de la Rosa Cruz.
