Dr. María Guadalupe Ojeda Vargas highlighted the increment of the enrollment and the quality of its professors, 97% have postgraduate studies; the Campus distinguishes for offering scholarships to more than 50% of the students.

Presenting the corresponding activity report from 2015, the Rector of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, Dr. María Guadalupe Ojeda Vargas, highlighted that the strength of her community relies on its members, who sum talent, work, leadership and social commitment.

In her message, the Rector of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, Dr. Maria Guadalupe Ojeda Vargas, said that the progress and achievements in 2015 constitute a reflection of the joint work of the university family from Campus: directors, professors, students and service personnel.

Likewise, Dr. Guadalupe Ojeda Vargas express his gratitude to the political actors who helped obtain resources for the constructions that have started in campus, such as the multifunctional laboratories in Salvatierra, the Civil Engineering and the third and fourth level of the main building in the south venue.

In another matter, the Rector of Campus informed that the educative offer will increase next school cycle, with the creation of programs such as the degree in Agro-business in a non-schooled way.

Regarding other achievements from the informed period, they revealed that the enrollment of Camus Celaya-Salvatierra reached 3,899 students, 2,390 were enrolled in the Division of Health Sciences and Engineering, and 1,509 in the Division of Social Sciences and Engineering. To support the students, 2,063 were benefited with a scholarship.

It is worth mentioning that this cypher sums 6,544 people who were addressed through the program of Continuous Education, with courses, diplomas and seminars, among other activities.

In 2015, Campus had 86 Full-time professors, from which 97% have postgraduate students, and 81% have doctorate.

Dr. Ojeda Vargas revealed some of the upcoming challenges, such as strengthening the collegiate work to diminish school desertion and increase the degree indexes; the liaison work with high-school and increase the participation the students in extracurricular activities.

Representing the university community, UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, expressed his recognition and gratitude of whom has allowed the growth in Campus Celaya-Salvatierra.

He reminded the origins of the campus, which in 2008 began working with an enrollment of 1,600 students, and a team who had the task to address many cities in the south of the state. It was told –he said—that this Campus foresaw a hope in growth for the University but also the region.

Dr. Guerrero Agripino said also that, in that year, research in Campus was incipient, but "now we can say there is leadership in the research lines", result from the commitment they have with society, which is "part of the essence and transcendence of the University".

The General Rector agreed with Dr. Ojeda Vargas in the challenges that she mentioned, and reaffirmed the support of the university authorities for the community of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra. At the same time, he thanked the Rector for her work and her "great love for her campus" and the University.

In her intervention, Dr. Marilú León Andrade, academic of the Division of Social and Administrative Sciences, emphasized in the contribution done by the academics in this campus while answering the needs of their environment. Beyond the economical retribution. "our payment is the satisfaction of contributing to have a better society", he expressed.

The student from the Division of Health Science and Engineering, Javier Flores Gallardo, representing the student community, spoke about the most relevant achievements from his partners in the academic, sport and cultural ambiance, as well as the work done in favor of their communities through social service programs.

In ceremony were present, from UG: Pro Vost, Dr. Héctor Efraín Rodríguez de la Rosa; Academic Secretary, Dr. José Luis Lucio Martínez, the Secretary of Management and Development, M. Jorge Alberto Romero Hidalgo; members of the board, rectors of campus and the director of the High-School college, among other unipersonal authorities from the collegiate organs from the house of studies, as well as professors, students and administrative personnel from the institution.

Also participated, the Delegate of the "Secretaria de Educación Pública" in Guanajuato, M. Fernando bribiesca Sahagún, and the Senator Gerardo Sánchez García, among other representatives from the political class.
