
Guanajuato, Gto., April 25, 2016.- The Rector from Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández, invited all the university community and society, to participate in the encounter denominated "First Model of the United Nations for the state of Guanajuato GMUN2016", which will be developed from April 28 to 30 in the Magnus spaces at the venue Marfil.
Accompanied by the organizing committee, Dr. Corona Fernández offered a press conference in which he celebrated that the youth from the University of Guanajuato and sister institutions, get involved in the construction of a better country.
It is important, he said that educative institutions are part of the citizens, coexistence, social participation in the most urgent topics from actual societies, institutions that compose it and the decisions from the people, to contribute in creating a social and political awareness and build a juster, inclusive and less violent society.
In the conference participated Rafael Velázquez García, student from the Civil Engineering degree, Karla Yadira Romero Sandoval from the degree in Education and Karina del Carmen Rioyos Muñoz, student from the degree in Industrial Relations, all three from the University of Guanajuato, as well as Diego Hernández Huerta, student from the degree in Psychology from the "Universidad Lasalle Bajío".
The youth from the Organizing committee, thanked the support received from the University of Guanajuato as from other educational institutions and sponsors of the First United Nations Model for the state of Guanajuato, which is a replica of the work and activities that develop in UN, with dialogue and debates through several committees.
They explained that they handle seven committees: The General Assembly, the Security Council, The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the Organization of American States (OAS), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Commission of Disarm and International Security (DISEC) and the Human Rights Committee.
Within each table, the inscribed youth will function as delegates and will develop the themes cited before, trying to find in the dialogue and the debate, the way to express their ideas and propose solutions, same that can reach instances which may consider them.
Students held that the model is supported by the Center of Research in the United Nations (CRUN), which verifies the pertinence of the proposals and even, if so considers, can make them reach international organs for their possible application, with which the voice of the youth in Guanajuato can add to the solution of world problems.
Each one of the tables will have 25 delegates, a president, a moderator and a conference officer, in addition; they will accept observers and in the closing ceremony, on Sunday, they will present conclusions.
