Guanajuato, Gto. April 25, 2016.- The University of Guanajuato is host of the fifth edition of the "International Forum of Research of Interior Design", made in liaison with the "Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez" (UACJ); together with seven Mexican universities and four internationals, through the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD) from UG.

This forum has the finality to develop a space for dialogue, idea exchange and knowledge between researchers and professional from the different trends of interior design, focusing this edition on topics related to habitability and sustainability in the interior-design field.

During the opening ceremony, representing the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, UG's Director of Liaison, Dr. Salvador Hernández Castro, said that research is a relevant topic in any of the academic trends, and that in UG, there are 900 full-time professors, from which 50% belong to the National System of Researchers (SNI).

He assured that these data give as results, new projects and social impact programs, but they still need to increase productivity to achieve a greater richness, and this forum could generate with other Academic Bodies in housing aspects, who propitiate getting close to postgraduates and hence, innovation in research.

For his part, Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández, said that this forum enriches the knowledge in the topic of interiors, which is an area that allows to generate aspiration of living in cozy places.

He added that the social character doesn't matter, interior design covers the projects of wishes, ideology and beliefs to live in a place with features that are fundamental for men.

Finally, DAAD's Director, Arq. Juan Martín Aguilera Morales assured that this forum will have an impact on teaching, for the educative interests; in research, by the matrix model axis; and in extension with the implementation of knowledge at the service to society.

He added that this forum would have three trends, the first one regarding ideas in the focus of sustainability and its implementation in social interest housing and with design aspects for disabled people; in a second scenario, the active factors, such as color, furniture and psychology used to generate comfort in people; and the third is the use of artificial and natural light in closed spaces.

During this event were present the Director of the Department of Design from DAAD from UG, LRI. Ma. Concepción Rodríguez Argote; the Coordinator of the Degree in Interior Design, M. Araceli Arroyo Rodríguez; Leader of the Academic Body from UACJ, M. Mónica Cuvelier García; and the Leader of the Academic Body of Arts and Design from UG, Dr. Ma. Isabel Téllez García.
