Guanajuato, Gto. May 2, 2016.- Guarantee of quality is what exists in the postgraduates of Medical Specialties of Campus León from the University of Guanajuato (UG), with eight specialties in the National Program of Quality Postgraduates (PNPC).

The PNPC encourages the continuous improvement and quality assurance of the national postgraduate, to increase the scientific, humanistic, technological and innovation capacities in the country, to incorporate the generation and application of knowledge as a resource in the development of society and the attention to their needs, contributing to consolidate the dynamic growth and a more equitable and sustainable development throughout the country.

In an interview, the Coordinator of Medical Specialties in the Department of Medicine and Nutrition of the Division of Health Science, Dr. Bertha Arévalo Rivas, assured that UG has twenty high-quality specialists in its department and that eight of these are renowned nationally, in the PNPC.

The educational programs that have this recognition are: the specialty in Otorhinolaryngology; Head & Neck Surgery; medicine of the sick in a critical state; spine surgery; neonatology; cardiology; anesthesiology; and pediatric surgery.

She assured that these postgraduates with national recognition are a guarantee about the quality of the programs as well as of the graduates; consequently, the impact these specialists have is that they could attend and provide quality medical attention to their patients.

Within these programs, we find the specialty in Urology, which is in charge of the Genitourinary system of women and men; a specialty that UG student, Maria Guadalupe Chávez Torres has developed with her effort, with the support of professors and this house of studies.

In the matter, Dr. Bertha Arévalo Rivas, recognized that there are very few women urologists in the country and highlighted that the student Dr. Guadalupe Chávez recently obtained the second place in the contest of posters with the topic "Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy in patients diagnosed with High Grade Muscle Invasive Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma" in the XXVII Congress of the National Association of Urologists graduates from the Medical Center "La Raza" made in January 2016.

This is an example where the postgraduate student from UG stands out nationally for her integral development, and uneasiness of the social improvement.

The University of Guanajuato in its four campi has more than 80 postgraduates in the areas of knowledge of Architecture, Art and Design; in Natural and Exact Sciences; in Economic-Administrative Sciences; in Health Sciences; in Social Sciences and Human Studies; and Engineering.

With these postgraduates, UG consolidates its commitment with education and its students, who have the institutional support for the development in all ambiances.
