
They obtain the first place in the Second National Contest of Oral trial and Preliminary Hearings.
Guanajuato, Gto. April 30, 2016.- Students from the University of Guanajuato (UG) display their professional quality by obtaining the first place in the 2nd National Contest of Oral trial and Preliminary Hearings, obtaining their pass for the competition of "Champ of Champs" for the second time.
In addition of obtaining the first place, they deserved four individual recognitions in the national level for their dexterity during this contest, which are: Best interrogation, Best defense opening statement, best prosecution closing argument, and best defense closing argument.
The students from the Division of Law, Politics, and Government, Campus Guanajuato from UG, which obtained the prize and recognition are: Gustavo Rodríguez Venegas from the seventh semester; Gloria Guadalupe García from the tenth semester; Dulce María Dávila Álvarez of the seventh semester; and José Rafael Arellano Munitiz from fourth semester.
These young students were advised by M. Juan Carlos Páramo Vázquez, who assured that the key of the success is that the University of Guanajuato doesn't not prepare for students to win, but to learn life.
He said that, during the competence they made seven hearings, but had to prepare fourteen in total in defense and prosecution, which required a lot of work from the students, which already competed against four regions in the country; the Southern region, the Central Region, the Northern Region and the Bajio Region.
At the eliminatory made in Tijuana, they won the three final hearings, which made them deserve the first place; and with this prize they obtained a scholarship to study a master degree in California Western School of Law of San Diego, and another to study in the 26 Academy of Skills of Oral litigation organized by the same university; to which professionals from all Latin America attend.
In June, they'll defend their title as "Champ of Champs" in Georgetown University at Washington, D.C. (US), competing against the Jury School from the state of Morelos.
It is worth to mention that the second National Contest of Oral Trial and Preliminary Hearings is organized by the Western California School of Law of San Diego, the Center of Legal Studies Carnonell A.C., Initiative Mérida, the Center of Studies on Teaching and Learning of Law A.C. and ACCESS Training.
With these results, the University of Guanajuato consolidated the commitment with their students, providing the necessary support for their comprehensive development which redound in a growth in the ambiences in their life.
