Guanajuato, Gto., April 30, 2016.- With the objective to increase the habit of reading among children, the project "Mentors UG" opens its first library in which the children could have access to their preferred books.

With this opening, the third edition of the project closed. This project had the Ancient Patio of Industrial Relationships from the University of Guanajuato (UG) as a scenario, with the presence of 30 children and 29 mentors.

To event attended the Pro Vost, Dr. Héctor Efraín Rodríguez de la Rosa, representing the General Rector of UG, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino; and the Coordinator of Impulse to the Student's Comprehensive Development, Eng. Luis Eduardo Calderón Rivas, representing the Rector from Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández.

Dr. Rodríguez de la Rosa emphasized the importance of having support for this project that seeks to generate a liaison among institutions and associations for an integral benefit of the children.

The student Karla Yadira Romero Sandoval, Coordinator of Human Talent of "Mentors UG", exhorted the children to continue participating in the next editions of the project. In addition, he commented that the people or students that are interested in joining the program, could do so in July with the new issuing of the summons.

He thanked the support of the involved and the sponsors who gathered efforts so this edition in April 2016 and for four weeks the children learned under a different topic every week: Science and Technology which finished with a Robotics workshop with the collaboration of the Laboratory of Mobile Robotics UGTO; Environment finished with planting trees; History, Culture and Art which culminated with a tour in the Museum of the Alhóndiga de Granaditas", with a workshop of prehispanic stamps; as well as Nutrition and Health.

Also present were the Director of the Division of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Dr. Claudia Susana Gómez López; and the President of the Foundation "RI", Jessica Duran Rojas.

It is worth mentioning that "Mentors UG" has the objective to generate the tools and be a platform of impulse and liaison so children can continue with their college education.
