
Guanajuato, Gto., April 29, 2016.- In name of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández, Rector of Campus Guanajuato, and Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera, Director of the Division of Law, Politics and Government; signed the agreement of collaboration with the "Instituto Electoral del Estado de Guanajuato" (IEEG), the "Tribunal Estatal Electoral de Guanajuato" and the "Sociedad Mexicana de Estudios Electorales, A.C."
The signing took place at IEEG's facilities and the purpose of this agreement is to formally establish, the commitments agreed by each institution for the organization, financing and realization of the "XXVII National Congress of Electorate Studies. The new Mexican political map."
They revealed that, each year, the "Sociedad Mexicana de Estudios Electorales AC", calls diverse institutions in the country, whose know-how focuses on the analysis and research in the political-electoral matter, to carry on the National Congress of Electorate Studies, so for the XXVII edition, they chose Guanajuato as the host.
The President of the IEEG's General Council, Lic. Mauricio Guzmán Yáñez, highlighted that the main purpose of this edition of the National Congress, is to create an approach to the analysis and search for a balance of the 2014 reform and reflection on the confirmation of the new political-electoral map in Mexico.
In his message, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández manifested his please for being part of the University of Guanajuato and particularly from Campus Guanajuato, because in this edition of the National Congress of Electorate Studies the venue is our state and, part of the activities, in the university spaces.
He reminded that UG during the electoral processes, has opened its spaces for debate with a sense of plurality, to listen several proposals and, from the work of its Division and Departments, has made a very close collaboration with different city halls in the state, through courses and diplomas for public servers.
He particularly emphasized the experience and the work from different academic and research bodies in this matters, such as the Division of Law, Politics and Government, whose director, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera was present.
The University of Guanajuato, said, has a long history in publishing books and articles in electoral, political and governmental matter, though, among others, the Departments of Political Studies and Public Management, History, Philosophy and Anthropology, of Social Work, so they have collaborated in the construction of a culture of respect of the human rights and citizenship, in such way that there is a total availability from UG to collaborate with this ev3ent and that the conclusions of the same, contribute so the political parties can be at the level of the Mexican society.
Were also present, Dr. Luis Eduardo Molina, President of the Directive Council of the "Sociedad Mexicana de Estudios Electorales AC" and Lic. Alejandro Martínez and Lic. Juan Manuel Macías Aguirre, Secretary and Official Major of TEEG respectively, as well as electoral advisors and personnel from IEEG.
