
Guanajuato, Gto.,May 3, 2016.- The seventh edition of the University Cultural Forum "Espiral" began with a concert full of energy from the musical ensemble "Solar Quartet" with the projection of images with an illumination technique embossed best known as "mapping" from the visual artist Jesslerieves.
The show occurred in the General Auditorium of the University of Guanajuato (UG), place that gathered students, professors, university community and public with the purpose to enjoy an event where they fused music and visual arts creating an effect of festivity, attitude with which "Espiral" began, a relevant event in the cultural of the college students.
The General Rector from the University of Guanajuato (UG), Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino assured that the forum is a breakthrough so the students at UG may have a space to unveil their creativity and artistic calling. Furthermore, he emphasized that "Espiral" is the result of teamwork, so he congratulated all the students who made this great project possible. He also thanked the support from Guanajuato's City Hall as well as Leon's, since this edition of Espiral will happen in both cities.
He reiterated the commitment the University of Guanajuato has with the creation, diffusion and promotion of art and culture, he mentioned that UG has a wide credibility in the youth, so he made clear that they will always receive support from the institution.
On his part, the Municipal President of Guanajuato, Lic Edgar Castro, congratulated the students for boosting the culture in Guanajuato and expressed the commitment the city has with the University, and said that his admiration will always grant support so the youth can use their imagination and begin projects of social wellbeing such as "Espiral".
Equally, the Vice Rector of the "Instituto Superior de Diseño de la Habana, Cuba, M. Antonio Berazain, mentioned that this event strengthens even more the relationship between Cuba and Mexico, especially with the University of Guanajuato and with the capital of the state, he showed enthusiasm for being guests of honor and invited all students at UG to get involved with culture and education offered in Cuba.
Likewise, the General Coordinator of Espiral, C. Ángel Rodríguez Gómez, made a historical background of the project, space in which educational institutions have joined, as well as cities and countries, which have the same conviction, to stimulate ideas, creativity and imagination through diverse artistic expressions. He thanked the support from the university and government authorities and invited all the community to be a part of the programming which will end next May 14.
