Guanajuato, Gto., May 6, 2016.- The University of Guanajuato (UG), following the commitment with the academic development and in the effort to provide a greater benefit to society, will destine a seven hectares' terrain for the venue San Carlos of Campus León for the construction of the health cluster.

UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, explained that the University Council approved this terrain donation, because for the institution, represents an opportunity for the clinical fields to develop in the cluster, so they can benefit students and professors of the Division of Health Science.

Dr. Guerrero Agripino stressed that these actions would promote the academic strengthening of Campus León, but also have an important aspect in the development of the city.

On his part, the Secretary of Management and Development from UG, M. Jorge Alberto Romero Hidalgo, mentioned that at the same time, the "Instituto de Administración y Avalúos de Bienes Nacional (INDAABIN) agreed to yield to the University of Guanajuato two hectares, in the part that adjoins with the Hospital of Specialties.

It is terrain that already has service, and where UG plants to construct a building for multiple uses and academic areas focused on research, extension and teaching.

This project, will encourage the increment of the student enrollment –with 2,000 students more in the venue San Carlos—which currently has nearly five thousand students.

M. Romero Hidalgo pointed out that the donation formalities could conclude in a 6–8-month lapse, from where it will continue with the procedure and the resource management for these projects.
