
Guanajuato, Gto., a 10 de mayo de 2016.- With the purpose to bring art and culture and people closer together in the city of León, Guanajuato, authorities from the University of Guanajuato (UG) revealed the program of activities of Espiral 2016 made in this city from May 17 to 21.
UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino recognized that one of the priorities of the maximum house of studies, is the comprehensive formation of people, given that art and culture are indispensable.
He also mentioned that this is an event organized and developed by students and said that it was an example of transcendence for the student community, because the stages are not only in the university but present in the whole city.
On his behalf, UG's Campus Leon's Rector, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez welcomed everyone to these series of activities and highlighted that the approach of society to culture is a commitment from the institution.
In a press conference, the General Director of Espiral University Forum, Ángel Eduardo Rodríguez Gómez thanked the support received from university authorities to make activities in Campus Leon, and said that in the future they seek to extend their activities within the state.
In the same way, he expressed that the themed axis of this edition is the transformation, hence, the homage for Nikola Tesla and Jules Verne, because both made creative and innovative contributions to the society within their respective ambiences.
Edgar Erick Zayas Nieves, member of the Organizing Committee of Espiral University Forum, revealed that UG is an institution open to change and create projects that answer the needs of the current environment, therefore, supports the creation of initiatives that have an impact on society, and that allow the citizens the empowerment of the public space.
The student and also member of the organizing committee Espiral, Sandra Patricia Balderas Vázquez, invited to the beginning of activities in the city of León next Tuesday May 17th at the Auditorium Jorge Ibarngüengoitia at 18:00 hrs to the homage for Nikola Tesla, a production of the Espiral team in collaboration with students of the Division of Art, Architecture and Design (DAAD) from Campus Guanajuato from UG, students from UNAM and artists José Alcántar, Yuriana Lara and Alejandro Barba.
It is worth mentioning that from Wednesday 18 to Saturday 21, there will be activities in different points in the city such as Plaza Fundadores, Foro Luna Negra, venue Forum of Campus León from UG. The closing ceremony of activities in th city of León will be on Saturday May 21st in Plaza Fundadores, with a concert of "La Voz al son del Tambor."
