Guanajuato, Gto., May 11, 2016.- Students from the Public Accounting program taught in the Division of Economic-Administrative Sciences (DCEA) from the University of Guanajuato (UG), offered their professional services for free in the "Fiscal accountable office," located in such division.

Currently, the office is led by M. Martha Leticia Velázquez, this initiative raised with the objective to develop and apply the knowledge acquired into practice, besides making favorable social actions, helping people with their fiscal documents.

In an interview with the team of students who work at the office, they indicated that one of their purposes is to "attend people with the greater needs who cannot pay an accountant. With this, we also make an extensive activity, same that it is one of the main functions of the University of Guanajuato, in addition of teaching and research."

Equally, the mentioned that among the services they offer: fiscal advice, tax payment documents, monthly and annual declarations. Likewise, they grant advice for the taxpayers to be in order with their activities.

It is precise to mention that the University of Guanajuato has an agreement with the "Servicio de Admnistración Tributaria (SAT)", so the students can make their professional practice. "Year after year there is an agreement with SAT, where we go into their offices in Guanajuato's capital to help with the annual declarations, mainly, but since the work load is high, we also collaborate with other functions," they said. Likewise, the students also go the "Secretaría de Transparencia" to contribute with the documentation to be more agile in this governmental instance.

In the case of the office, they indicated that: "we help people and we learn; this helps us not only from the knowledge point and practice, but also as a public service that has no cost. We help professors, students, public servers, etc. The office is open all year, and it is for all publics.

To finalize, the students highlighted that the activities made leave them with a great personal satisfaction to assess people who need it but do not have the necessary resources to approach a public accountant.

Today, the students who compose the "Fiscal accountable office" are: Laura Espinoza; Elizabeth López Bolaños; María Guadalupe Quintero; Rafael García León; Ángel David Escobar; and Rodrigo Adolfo Gallegos.
