
Guanajuato, Gto. May 11, 2016.- The 8th High School Cultural Encounter from the University of Guanajuato began. There will be cultural activities that seek to focus in the identity of the students from ten schools in the High School College.
Representing the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, the Director of Liaison, Dr. Salvador Hernández Castro, said that the cultural focus of this event is of great importance for the comprehensive formation of the students, since they are the reason to be of this house of studies.
This encounter, Dr. Salvador Hernández assured, is done to strengthen diverse areas in the students, and it is grateful that the participation is active and productive, without putting aside the academic activities, since High Schools have been able to keep a balance in their educative programs; have given greater encouragement and new ideas, in this case, in the cultural area.
The Director of the High School College, Q.F.B. Martha O. Gallaga Ortega inaugurated this cultural encounter, who assured that the programming will focused on art, which is the expression of emotion and skills from the students, from different UG's high schools.
He added that UG does not only seek to enrich the academic area, but to implement cultural activities for the development of the student in diverse currents, that allow continuous improvement.
Among the programmed activities highlight: modern dance, ballroom dancing, folkloric dance, contemporary of Guanajuato, Music Trova León, and the rock band Guanajuato, as well as Rondallas from Salvatierra, Salamanca, Leon, San Luis de la Paz and Silao.
To the event assisted, the Director of Cultural Extension, Dr. Sara Julsrud López; the Director of High School Irapuato, M.D.O. Raquel Castro Soriano and the Academic Secretary from CNMS, Dr. Jesús Raúl Lugo Martínez.
