Irapuato, Gto., May 16, 2016.- Students from the Texas A&M College of Agriculture, arrived to the Division of Life Sciences (DICIVA) from the University of Guanajuato, to know the projects and research areas in Irapuato, as well as the main agro-industries in the Bajío in Guanajuato.

Dr. Alex Thomasson, professor of the Department of Agricultural Biological Engineering and nine students from the program of Agricultural Systems Engineering, Mechanical Agriculture and Hydric Resources Engineering, were part of the visiting delegation.

17 years ago, an exchange relationship was established with professors and students from the College of Agriculture, encouraged then by the Professor Dr. Manuel Collado Marié and since, students from Texas and Irapuato participate in academic and cultural experiences every year.

The Director of the Division of Life Sciences, Dr. Eduardo Salazar Solís, accompanied by the Academic Secretary, Dr. César Gutiérrez Vaca and the professor from the Department of Mechanical Agriculture, Dr. Noé Saldaña Robles, received the guests and took them to know the laboratories of Agronomy, Environmental Sciences and Agricultural Mechanical Engineering.

Then, they moved to the Division of Engineering from Campus Irapuato Salamanca, where they made a tour through the robotics laboratory, as well as the workshops of mechanics and electrics.

During the week, they'll visit UG's central building, where they'll have an encounter with the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino. They'll also know some businesses in the agro-industrial branch in several cities.

Next Friday, May 20th, the visitors will participate in a panel where they will expose their experiences and final consideration of their visit to the University and the state of Guanajuato.
