Guanajuato, Gto., May 19, 2016.- Students from Civil Engineering from the University of Guanajuato (UG), and at the same time their basic academic preparation, compete with more than 1,300 students belonging to the "Asociación Nacional de Estudiantes de Ingeniería Civil" (ANEIC).

The tournament that gathers the best apprentices in this subject in all the country, is the "OlympiANEIC" which comprehends of three axes: Academic, Cultural and Sports.

That is how, nearly 124 students from UG competed in the XXXII edition where they accomplished 120 points that were worth to locate in the second post of 29 delegations from participant universities.

The academic axis was made in the Postgraduate Building from the "Universidad de Colima", where María de los Ángeles Navarro Yebra in the category foundations; Octavio Dueñez García in Structural Design, and Alan Ulises López in Mathematics, manages to raise the name of UG, each one with the maximum medal given by OlympiANEIC, the gold.

Student Dulce Gabriela Vargas Rodríguez obtained the second place in the category of Planning; and the three third places were for Juan Aarón Tezcucano Villegas in Physics, Javier Olaf Ruíz Ornelas in Structural Analysis and Simón Granados González.

For these tests were considered exams of related topics with civil engineering, soil mechanic and materials, mathematics, physics and photography.

The student of the eighth semester in Civil Engineering and UG's Delegate in ANEIC, Carlos Gerardo Lomas Arvizu, celebrated the results of Guanajuato's delegation that were 7 medals (3 gold, 1 silver, 3 bronze) in the academic part; one silver in cultural and 21 (13 gold, 1 silver, 7 bronze) in sports.

He recognized the support given by the University of Guanajuato to its students, situation that encourages them to move forward to have the best results.

He abounded that ANEIC founded 34 years ago and since then, it is the proper ambiance to forge the seeder of future professionals and leaders in society that in a future will work to benefit our country.

Besides, it creates a network of students in Civil Engineering, distributed in the Mexican Republic, that seeks the comprehensive development of the students, mainly in the academic, ethic, cultural, sports and philanthropic aspects through the exchange of knowledge and experiences obtained in the universities to promote in the student, the constant overcoming and the social commitment with the country.
