Guanajuato, Gto., May 20, 2016.- Evaluators from the Council for the Accreditation of the Higher Education of Arts A.C. (CAESA for its acronym in Spanish) and the Interinstitutional Committees for the Evaluation of Higher Education (CIEES for its acronym in Spanish), began the process of evaluation and accreditation from the Department of Music of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD) from Campus Guanajuato.

The Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández, welcomed the evaluators, to whom he recognized that the accreditation benefits all the institution, for the national and international recognition and, the process of accreditation itself, is a work that propitiates the improvement of academic programs.

In the last decades, he observed, the University of Guanajuato has planned the challenge to submit to evaluation its academic programs, and has proposed to contemplate the diversity of areas of knowledge for these processes, as recently occurred in Visual Arts and with Music that, for UG has been fundamental, same as human studies.

M. Juan Ledezma Martínez, who is the institutional responsible of evaluation and accreditation of the University of Guanajuato, recognized Campus Guanajuato for being the one with more programs renowned by their quality, which at a national level, is an important indicator, among others, to gather resources.

Both Dr. Arturo Pérez López, Director of the Department of Music as Dr. Martín Aguilera Morales, Director of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design, manifested their approval for the beginning of these works to improve the Department, which has had great personalities in its classrooms.

"Thanks to the support from the University of Guanajuato, there's the compromise as musicians, as formers and as students to give answer to the observations" that show their strengths and weaknesses, affirmed Dr. Pérez.

As for Dr. Aguilera Morales, he emphasized that the Department of Music has more than six decades "in this university who born in educated diapers", that extraordinary people founded and payed special emphasis in music, he sustained, at the same time of gathering "may insignia people who have gone through these classrooms, as Hector Quintanar, Manuel De Elías, Rodríguez Frausto, Guillermo Pinto, or graduates such as Javier Camarena who is in the highest fights of opera in the world"; that is why it was a commitment to address one and every one of the evaluator's recommendations.

In representation of the president of CAESA, M. Sergio Rommel Alfonso Guzmán; Dr. David Rodríguez de la Peña, speaker of the Executive Committee and Director of the "Conservatorio Nacional de Música", thanked the confidence for an external evaluation about their strengths and areas of opportunity.

Also present in the works, Dr. Gonzalo de Jesús Castillo, institutional representative of the "Universidad Autonóma de Zacatecas"; Dr. Alfredo Bringas Sánchez, from the Faculty of Music of UNAM, M. Minerva Hernández, from the "Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo" and singing professor in the "Coservatorio Nacional de Música"; Lic. Rocío Gonzalez Ledesma, analist -evaluator and Dr. Vicente López Velarde, from the "Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro" and teacher at the Faculty of Beauty Arts.
