Guanajuato, Gto., May 21, 2016.- Jigoro Kano, a Japanese Martial Arts Master founded judo as a sport in 1882, and it was until the Olympic Games in Barcelona 1992, where female competed.

The philosophy of judo sustains that there must be a mental and physical training to achieve that mind and body reach a state of harmony and equilibrium.

That is how the student from the 5th semesters in the degree of Civil Engineering from Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, Natzielli Melissa Sánchez Cruz, has proven an equilibrium in the academic and sports, that after 13 years of practicing judo, she accomplished her first bronze medal in the "Universiada Nacional 2016."

For Natz, as she likes to be called by her friends, was interesting the challenge to study an engineering and at the same time practice judo, without neglecting her responsibilities, she organizes her time for study and sports, "it is a great support that the University of Guanajuato allows you to perform both things" she expressed.

Perseverance, is the word with which she faced her combatants in this edition of the "Universiada" where the first fight was imprinted in memory, which gave her the pass to the second round.

In the battle against the judoka representative from the "Universidad Autonóma de Ciudad Juárez" could not get the victory, however, she got another opportunity where she battled a high level competitor in this discipline from the "Univsersidad Autonóma de Campeche", "I had to mentalize myself and only 35 seconds to go for the battle to end, I was able to pin her down, which won me the point to obtain the third place", she remembered.

Natz explained that the combats last 4 minutes, where the maximum score is a point, this is obtained if the rival falls completely on his/her or her back, if only half the back touches the floor, then it is a half point and in case the opponent fall on the arm; they give a quarter of a point. If the score is tied, the competitors extend the combat until one obtains the golden point.

The favorite technique of the young judoka from UG is Harai Goshi, consists in grabbing your opponent by the hip with the right hand and while you lift, the right leg creates a point where you make a shovel movement and bring the opponent down.

Her message for the student community who wishes to know or practice judo, is to have discipline, perseverance, maintain a good state of health and above all, value the support from the family, who is always present in the competitions.
