Guanajuato, Gto., May 23, 2016.- With artistic, cultural, academic and sport activities which will conclude on May 26th, began the program díaD to commemorate the Day of the Student, with activities in the four campuses and high schools from the University of Guanajuato (UG).

"What brings life to the University of Guanajuato, the best university in the country, are the students," declared the governor of the State of Guanajuato, Lic. Miguel Márquez Márquez, during the inauguration of the activities that celebrate the students, who he invited to value the opportunity to study and prepare for all aspects of life.

He informed that he will support UG's student community with the delivery of 9,721 tablets that will be given throughout the year; in addition, they will deliver 5,307 scholarships, from which 3,985 are with PRONABES, 1,214 from SUBE, and 164 of International Mobility so the youth can accomplish new experiences in their personal and academic formation.

In his intervention, UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino emphasized in the transference of the comprehensive formation of students, as well as the importance of the Educative Model and the follow up of the trajectory of students and graduates.

He assured that UG graduates have a great social awareness, "we work here every day so they can have a better way of life, and this event is an act of recognition to reaffirm our sense of belonging, for this and all generations that rise high the name of the House of Studies," finalized Dr. Guerrero Agripino.

The student from the degree in Culture and Art from the Division of Social Sciences and Human Studies from Campus León, representing the student community, said that being a student is a privilege, since many youths don't have the opportunity of a formation, therefore, you must assume this opportunity with responsibility.

Being a student, he added, is a decisive moment in our lives, and UG not only supports us in the academic learning, it becomes a home, since the hive provides experience and opportunities that will be reflected with the social commitment.

During the event, the students were accompanied by university, state and educative authorities, who reaffirmed their commitment with UG's student community.
