Salamanca, Gto., May 24, 2016.- With a sport, cultural and inauguration event, the community of the Division of Engineering (DICIS) from the University of Guanajuato, celebrated the Day of the College Student.

University and municipal authorities awarded the winning students in the sport competitions and inaugurated two modules of dressing rooms, showers and bathrooms in the soccer field from DICIS, with a municipal investment of 896 thousand pesos.

Celebrations began with a physical activation in which around 300 students participated, followed by an athletics race of 3.4 km. in which more than 400 youth participated.

The opening ceremony had the presence of the Rector of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, Dr. Ernesto Camarena Aguilar, the Municipal President of Salamanca, Antonio Arredondo Muñoz and DIF's President, Mrs. Ana Luisa Aguinaco; the General Director of Culture, Education and Sports, Esteban Martínez Hernández and the Director of the Division of Engineering, Roberto Rojas Laguna.

"The youth have willingness to do things right" recognized Antonio Arredondo, at the same time of exhorting the students to continue participating in a proactive form to have a better city and a better country.

After the winner's award ceremony of the athletic career, they directed to the dressing rooms, where members of the soccer, football and tag football teams were expecting them, who thanked for the received support. Arredondo Muñoz also delivered sport material to the coordination of sports from campus.

It is important to mention that among the winners of the athletics race, there were a Colombian and Venezuelan students, who are formally enrolled in Campus and had an outstanding participation in this journey.
