
León, Gto., May 24, 2016.- With the purpose to address the topic of poverty and ageing in Latin America, Dr. Alejandro Klein, professor-researcher from the Department of Public Management and Development from the University of Guanajuato (UG) Campus León, visited the Department of State and Sociology from the University of Malaga, Spain.
in collaboration with Dr. Klein, also presented Dr. George Leeson, Co-director of Population and Ageing Institute from Oxford University and Dr. Martha Ortega from the University of Malaga and ex-visitor researcher in the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing, who together addressed the topics of social change and vulnerability in the old age.
The main objectives of this academic visit are to study and analyze the variables that intervene in the ageing population of Guanajuato, Mexico and Europe; as well as to tighten liaisons with the University of Malaga and the Institute of Population Ageing from Oxford University.
This way, they seek to progress in the study of old age, topic which Campus León is committed to, the Department of Public Management and Development and the Division of Social Sciences and Human Studies.
With activities like this one, Campus Leon reaffirms its commitment to impact with knowledge instruments and high scientific quality in the design of public politics for the solution of emerging problems, such as the population's ageing.
